ACTivate The HeARTful Journey for Student Mental Well-being Project

Service Introduction

Funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust in May 2024, the project will provide a two-year (2024-2026) support service to students suffering from depression and anxiety. Based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy, the project will provide schools with a range of services to provide early prevention, early identification and early intervention support for students suffering from depression and anxiety. The programme also provides support and training to parents, teachers and life coaches to build a mental health-friendly school and community environment.

  • To increase students' understanding of depression and anxiety, and to learn how to face adversity and deal with depression and anxiety. Enhance their ability to cope with depression and anxiety and reduce the impact of depression and anxiety.
  • Provide training to parents and teachers to help them identify students suffering from depression and anxiety early. They are supported by a combination of acceptance and commitment therapy and expressive arts interventions.
  • Support parents to take care of their children who are suffering from depression and anxiety to reduce the pressure on caregivers and strengthen the family function.
  • Through the support of life coaches, we help students who are suffering from depression and anxiety to reintegrate into the community more effectively. To raise public awareness of students' emotional well-being and build a caring, inclusive and supportive community.
