Service Introduction

This center provides one-stop community mental health support services for residents, mental health service users, and their families. It assists mental health service users in reintegrating into the community, establishes regional support networks, and promotes regional mental health education to enhance public awareness of mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Service Context

This service is provided by professional social workers and nurses.

 

Contents include:

  • Developing and following up individual rehabilitation plan
  • Provision of nursing care, including medical treatment, regular medication and counselling on personal hygiene
  • Referral of needy cases to the relevant community psychiatric services of the Hospital Authority for clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment
  • To make referrals or liaise with community welfare resources when necessary

Through group work, members can influence and interact with each other within the group to enhance their resilience, emotional management and social adjustment. In addition, the group can also serve as a medium for members to express their personal needs, thereby fostering support and mutual help among members.

Day training services are provided by occupational therapists and rehabilitation workers.

The training service focuses on enhancing members' independent living and functional skills, as well as providing outreach occupational therapy services and home living support.

 

Occupational needs assessment:

  • Life skills training, e.g. self-care skills training, home management skills training, health management training, basic community living skills training.
  • Pre-employment training, e.g. vocational skills training and work attitude training

Peer support workers provide emotional support to members, share peer recovery experience, and care for members through phone calls, face-to-face meetings or outreach. Accompany the social worker to share the recovery experience with members. To organise and facilitate group activities and community education programs.

Provided by professionals, rehabilitation workers and peer supporters, such as interest classes, networking activities, volunteer groups, social activities, etc., to enhance members' leisure, interest and social life, and to increase members' knowledge and understanding of community resources.

Provided by clinical psychologists, it conducts clinical assessments, services and treatments for individual cases and families, as well as clinical groups and programs. Mental health promotion is also provided.

Residents living in Tseung Kwan O South who include:

  1. ex-mentally ill persons aged 15 or above / persons with suspected mental health problems
  2. Secondary school students in need of community mental health support services
  3. Family members and carers of the above service users
  4. Residents who wish to improve their mental health

  2. Referred by social workers, psychiatrists, allied health professionals, teachers, staff of other government departments
