ACT with your HeART Mental Well-being Project for Students
Starting from July 2024, the project has launched a three-year (2024-2027) support service for students suffering from depression and anxiety to alleviate the negative impact of depression and anxiety.
Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy as the intervention approach, the project provides early prevention, early identification and early intervention support for students suffering from depression and anxiety to alleviate their emotional distress. The project also provides support and training to parents, teachers and mental health ambassadors to build a mental health-friendly school and community environment.
- Enhance students' understanding of depression and anxiety, learn to face adversity positively and deal with depression and anxiety, improve their ability to deal with depression and anxiety, and reduce the impact of depression and anxiety on them.
- To provide training for parents and teachers to help them identify students suffering from depression and anxiety and provide them with early support.
- To support parents to take care of their children suffering from depression and anxiety, so as to reduce the stress of carers and strengthen the functioning of the family.
- To assist students suffering from depression and anxiety to reintegrate into the community more effectively through the support of Mental Health Ambassadors.
- To raise public awareness and understanding of depression and anxiety among students and to build a caring, inclusive and supportive community.
